Polycarbonate Roofing on the Gold Coast
Polycarbonate is the go-to roofing material for pergolas, carports, patio covers and skylights on the Gold Coast. Polycarbonate vs Acrylic: Key Differences
Polycarbonate is roughly 250 times stronger than glass and virtually unbreakable, making it the choice for safety glazing, machine guards and high-impact applications. Acrylic (Perspex) offers better optical clarity and UV resistance but is more brittle. For boat windows, most recreational vessels use acrylic; commercial and offshore boats choose polycarbonate.
