Polyethylene (PE) or polyethene is a thermoplastic commodity heavily used in consumer products. Primarily we use High Denisty Polyethylene (HDPE) which is the high density version of PE plastic. This material is hard, strong and lighter than water. It can be moulded, machined, and joined together using welding (difficult to glue). The appearance is wax-like, lustreless and opaque. The use of UV-stabilizators (carbon black) improves its weather resistance but turns it black. Some types can be used in contact with food.
Applications - Tanks, stencils, cutting boards, bait boards, and general marine industry use (great non-rotting timber replacement).
- Colours / Textures - Most colours are available.
- Thickness - Sizes 2, 3, 4.5, 6, 9, 10, 12, 15, 19, 25, 32 mm and more.
If you require any additional information on the above materials, or would like to discuss a specific material or application with us, then please do not hesitate to contact us.
We are always happy to discuss a new challenge and find news ways of introducing plastic in to peoples lives.
